Safety Measures for the Prevention of COVID-19

First and foremost, I (Emma) care about the mental and physical health of all of my clients. I understand that you might be feeling more anxious about this illness than ever before. I would like you to know that CFC is committed to supporting you, and our community, during this time. As such, I am taking the necessary steps to protect you and your family from the COVID-19 virus.

Changes in Office Procedures

  • Sessions are now offered both face-to-face and via a secure telehealth platform. I understand that some of you prefer to have your therapy in person. If this is the case, please let me (Emma) know. In person sessions will be available for some cases, just as long as you do not have any symptoms of illness and are not at high risk.

  • For in-person sessions, masks are now required due to the increase in cases in Blount County, TN.

  • The office is being thoroughly disinfected between sessions as well as at the end of each day.

  • Credit cards are being run electronically and will not be handled by me. No cash or check will be accepted.

  • Appointments are scheduled at specific intervals to minimize the number of people coming into contact with one another.

  • Physical contact is not permitted (no hugs, handshakes, high fives with your therapist.)

  • If you show up for an appointment and I believe you have symptoms, or have been exposed, I will have to require you to leave the office immediately.

  • If I have been exposed to or test positive for COVID-19, I will notify you so that you can take the appropriate precautions.

How You Can Help

  • Reschedule your appointment or meet via telehealth if you have been exposed to or test positive for COVID-19.

  • Wear a mask properly (with both mouth and nose covered).

  • Regular handwashing and use of alcohol-based sanitizer. If you forget your mask or sanitizer, we have plenty on hand to share.

  • Maintaining a 6 foot distance from others and avoiding physical contact.

  • Wait in your car until no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

  • You will make sure that your child(ren) follow(s) all of the sanitation and distancing guidelines.

There will be no charged cancellation fees due to illness. For up to date information about COVID-19, its symptoms, quarantine regulations and more, please go to the CDC website.

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
